Comments about H&R 1871 Inc H&R® Handi-Rifle™ Youth Centerfire Rifle Package:

We picked up a used one for the wife. Within 20 rounds she was making 1" groups on the center at 100 yards. I only fired one shot (the youth model is too short on pull for me), and that was a quarter inch off a bull's eye.

I bought one of these for my young daughter, I took it to the range to sight it in (3 shots in 1.25 in.)
When I took her deer hunting a few days later, using a 2 man stand she and I watched a buck come in, when it got in between 80-100 yards she fired, and down went the buck with a perfect shoulder shot.

This rifle is nice and compact. But thats the only good thing about it. After 5 different makes of ammo I couldnt hit the broadside of a barn standing in it. The groups were rediculous. For several hundred more get a bolt gun.

Comments about H&R 1871 Inc H&R® Handi-Rifle™ Youth Centerfire Rifle Package:

I bought a new H&R 30-06. I consider myself a marksman able to shoot 1/8 inch groups with several of my large caliber guns. This gun shot all over the place. I was able to hit paper but that is about all I can say. I bought this gun to hog hunt thinking it would be easy to carry and honestly it felt awesome. I took it to the range on several occasions, changed scopes, ammo, and you name it. I put the same scope on my 7 mag and shot 1/8" groups at 100 yards. The gun was only good to look at...and it was a beauty, just not functional. I got rid of it. I later bought a 223 single shot from a sister company of H&R. Sure enough, the 223 did the same thing. I shot the paper up and had Zero consistency. I will never buy another single shot gun from H&R or any of their sister companies. I sold this one the next week. Buy at your own risk, you are better off hunting with a sling and rocks.
